5 trends for now, and later
Trust us, you don’t want to miss them
Summer’s coming to an end, sob. But it’s not all doom and gloom because these trans-seasonal pieces will leave you looking like you know exactly what’s happening, even when the weather doesn’t.
Starting with the trend for statement slogan tees. We can’t get enough of them. Try yours tucked into a pleated midi skirt to give this classic tomboy piece a feminine edge. It’s a look that’s got us through summer and will carry on through autumn with a denim jacket over the top. Add a swipe of pink lippy and your look is set.
Everybody’s talking about animal print right now and our inner Shania Twain circa 1998 is super-excited. We’re seeing it everywhere from snakeskin boots to zebra coats. But if you’re not ready to take this trend head-on, this chic jumpsuit is your perfect match. Subtle, yet still bang on trend. Layer a leather-look jacket over the top for a killer autumn look. Admit it, your Inner Shania Twain is excited too.
Need a layering piece that’ll keep you warm but looks oh-so-cool? Here it is. Crushed velvet is back and this time it’s not reserved purely for accessories. Whether it’s an old favourite of yours or you’re still yet to get on board (don’t worry, once the obsession starts, it doesn’t stop), this jumper is your ticket to the trend.
The girlfriend shirt
Okay, so you’ve heard of the boyfriend shirt – that’s old news now. Instead, how about its more feminine, floral friend? Say hello to the girlfriend shirt. Wear this piece with the same blue jeans you would its more masculine counterpart but fret less about the accessories because this number speaks for itself.
Can’t decide which colour jumper to wear? This trend lets you sport all the colours of the rainbow at once. With a collared shirt underneath, you can take this one to the office, or chuck a pair of jeans on and you’re set for the weekend. We’ll be slipping ours on with a leather pencil skirt for a styled-up autumn look.
So, there you have it, five trends that will see you through the remainder of the warmer months (and into the cooler ones too). And have you seen our edit to colouring up your closet? Check it out here.
