Getting active with Ella Gregory

We talk the importance of working out with one of our favourite Instagrammers

New year, new me. We’ve all heard it, and the majority of us have said it—probably a few more times than we’d like to admit. Let’s face it, New Year’s resolutions are easy to make but they’re not quite as easy to keep.

We headed to the pavements of London with blogger and podcast host Ella Gregory – AKA @cocosteaparty – to chat about her one time break-up with exercise and how she got back on track.

Ella: What a difference a year makes… This time last year I was mid-way through a nine-month break from exercise. It wasn’t planned, and only came about because I moved away from a gym that I loved dearly. I went from exercising 3-5 times a week to sitting still all day, every day, and it was my mental health that suffered the most.

I missed the social aspect of going to the gym and interacting with other humans (this is a huge deal when you work from home and live alone). The dramatic lack of movement also meant that I was regularly falling into a negative headspace, and struggling to shake it off.

Thankfully last summer I found a great yoga studio in my new neighbourhood, and I’ve been hitting the mat multiple times a week. I now plan my weekends around my favourite yoga classes, because they feel that essential to my health and happiness. This weekend I’ll be rocking up to class in my new Tu pieces.

The Tu Activewear Collection is packed with cute and affordable pieces – like my dusky pink zip-up top.
