The Style Me Curvy blogger picks her fave styles
“With the arrival of autumn, I use September as an excuse to reassess my wardrobe. My go-to summer dresses are now being replaced by cosy knitwear, skirts and tights combinations, and of course: jeans. They’re so practical but also one of the more complicated shopping experiences for the majority of us who have curves. That’s why I picked some of my favourite curve -friendly styles, which are available in a broad size selection too.”
“For me, skinny jeans are an absolute essential. I prefer the super-skinny style that you can wear with ankle boots day-to-day, and – for a more glamorous feel – with heels and a nice top. This pair have great stretch in them and move with your body as you walk. But most importantly, they hold their elasticity so they don’t lose shape around the knee area (a common problem with the skinny fit). I’ve styled this look as an example of casual comfort, with a vibrant red color pop to contrast against the monochrome checked jacket. I call it easy, chic everyday style.”
“Animal print can be seen everywhere this season and with options for everyone at Tu, you can fully delve into the trend – or simply dip your toe in it. I wanted to show an easy mix-and-match combination: snake print denim contrasted against soft, silky leopard print. It’s an extremely easy to achieve look that can be worn with flats and heels. The jeans have a soft sheen that gives an instant A/W grunge edge and they’re high waisted with a stretch fabric, making them an ideal curve-friendly option. They’d work with number of items in your wardrobe from cosy knits to crisp white shirts, or a simple black top if you want to let the jeans to be the statement piece of your outfit.”
“I have love-hate relationship with bootcut jeans, as they are one of the harder styles to get right. I was thrilled to find this pair, as they tick a number of boxes for me. They hug your body in all the right places, they’re high-waisted and they’re a great alternative for those who don’t like the feeling of a skinny jean but still want to have a nice clean silhouette. The smart and classic cut looks effortlessly cool with heels or ankle boots.”
