New Year’s style resolutions
Four easy-to-stick-to resolutions for 2018
After spending way too long over-indulging over the festive period, chances are you’ve promised yourself to become a clean-eating, wellness-loving, green-juicing yogi. But instead of making New Year’s resolutions you’re not going to keep, why not make some more realistic ones instead? Here are four we think are pretty easy to stick to.
1. Dial up your off-duty game
The novelty Christmas knits have been packed away and it no longer feels acceptable to dress in trackies 24-7 so what are you going to wear for the weekend now? Hello partners in style, aka this ditsy floral skirt and lemon knit duo. Try with an embroidered denim jacket and a pair of tan ankle boots for a look that will work just as well now as it does for spring too.
2. Don’t shy away from print
Leopard print: it’s not for the faint hearted. But 2018 is all about it. Work this jumper your way – whether it’s with your staple jeans or a sassy PVC skirt. Just make sure you polish off with a perfectly mismatched micro print bag for a look that packs serious POW.
3. Add some personality to the 9-5
This year we’re championing colour. But we’re not talking pretty spring pastels. We’re talking bright, bold, in-your-face colour. So forget your go-to monochrome palette for the 9-5 and sport a statement look instead. This vibrant mustard blouse is an easy way to start. Try with your everyday black trousers and some polished Chelsea boots for effortless workwear style.
4. Think beyond your go-to jeans
Jeans for the weekend – predictable much? Think outside the denim box this year with this deep V denim pinny. It looks great worn with some easy tan boots and a sunny-coloured roll neck layered underneath. Or take your look into balmy summer evenings (we know they’re a long way off but give us something to look forward too, please) by wearing it solo, teamed with some barely-there jewellery and a pair of strappy sandals.
