The bank holiday edit
What to wear, whatever the weather throws at you
You probably don’t need us to remind you that there’s a four day weekend coming up (woo hoo!). But if you’re spending the bank holiday here in Blighty, the great British weather can play havoc with your outfit choices. That’s why we’ve pulled together three easy looks you can wear, come rain, shine or anything in-between.
When it’s raining buckets…
Whether it’s raining relentlessly or there’s just a few light showers, a fling-on raincoat is a must for bank holidays spent at home. Featuring a fun pink metallic finish and a contrasting gingham lining, this rubber coated version is the perfect update on that pack-a-mac you always wear. Team with double denim – like this polished two-piece from Tu’s Premium range (that jacket, swoon!) – and a pair of chunky sneaks to beat the downpour in style.
When it’s all rays…
The weather might be (very) unpredictable but sometimes, just sometimes, we get lucky. And if warmer climes are on the cards, this floral print dress has spring written all over it. Soft pastel shades and an asymmetric ruffle hem add an instant dose of femininity – pare this back with some chunky rose gold sandals and an oversized embroidered denim jacket to work an effortless dressed-up-dressed-down mix.
When it’s somewhere in the middle…
Not quite warm, not quite cold… in-between-weather dressing can be tricky to master. But that’s where a chunky cosy knit comes in handy, like this statement scarlet version. But instead of teaming yours with your go-to trousers, try with a heavy-duty denim skirt instead. This chic tie-waist one is from Tu’s Premium collection and is our new favourite wardrobe staple. Wear with some leg-lengthening nude heels for classic style and don’t forget to keep your leather biker on hand, in case the weather takes a cooler turn.
