Your head-to-toe beach look

An edit of Tu’s best swimwear and cover-ups, along with three simple beauty hacks to match

When you’re heading on a sun-soaked holiday, finding a fun, flattering swimsuit is your first priority. We totally get that, but sparing a few minutes to style your hair and make-up can also pay style dividends, giving you a shot of confidence before you bare all at the beach. Check out our holiday edit of the best swimwear and cover- ups from Tu, and three simple beauty hacks that will make your swimwear sizzle.

Tankini + berry lip

a printed tankini from Tu

Tu’s printed tankini is ideal for a mix-and-match look – it features loads of bright colours so you can swap out each piece with a plain top or bottoms if you prefer. Whichever route you decide, team this retro pattern with a standout (but totally effortless) berry pink lip.

Kaftan + sun-kissed glow

Tu’s swimwear collections include a matching cover-up and this one’s our favourite: a bohemian-inspired floaty paisley kaftan. We’d team it with a bikini – and glowing skin. A bit of skin prep (a fake tan rubdown or some last-minute shimmer oil) is essential when you’re going abroad.

Swimsuit + beachy waves

All of Tu’s one-pieces are designed with a clever tummy control panel, and this swimsuit also has a cute ruched detail to skim over your curves (or see even more options here). We love to undercut the sweetness of the pretty floral print with messy hair – see how to get relaxed, bedhead waves below.

Hair and make-up looks

a behind the scenes look at Tu’s latest shoot

We asked our hair and make-up artist, Sam Sunshine, for some easy tips on how to recreate our model’s sultry seaside look. “I’ve kept the rest of Shana’s look quite simple, so it’s actually a low-effort, high-impact approach to hair and make-up,” she told us. She recommends spritzing clean hair with sea salt spray then popping it into a loose bun. Leave it to set (overnight is best) and then scrunch to make the most of your natural waves. As for the bright berry pout, Sam applied Sainsbury’s Boutique’s lipstick in A Little Bird Told Me with a lip brush for extra precision (note: touch-ups might be required after a few sips of sangria).
